Seattle Kraken Call Up Goalie

The Seattle Kraken have called up Christopher Gibson to their NHL roster.

The Kraken recently signed Gibson to a two-way deal after he impressed with their AHL affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds while on a PTO. Now, the 29-year-old is getting a chance with the NHL squad due to their current injury trouble in goal. At the time of this writing, Philipp Grubauer and Chris Driedger are sidelined with injuries. Yet, this could be a short-lived call-up, as Martin Jones welcomed a child last week, so perhaps he is simply getting time off to spend time with his family.

Either way, we will have to wait and see if Gibson gets into any action from here while with Seattle. In 16 career NHL games, he has a 4-5-3 record, 3.33 GAA, and .901 SV%.
