Toronto Maple Leafs Sign Goalie

With Ilya Samsonov leaving Saturday's game against the Boston Bruins with an injury, the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed Keith Petruzelli to an NHL contract.

Petruzelli had been on an AHL deal with the Toronto Marlies but due to the injuries to both Samsonov and Matt Murray, the Leafs needed a goalie. Now, Petruzelli is getting his chance to play with the NHL club while the two netminders are out with their injuries.

Petruzelli has been excellent for the Marlies this season, too. In six appearances on the year, he has a perfect 6-0 record to go along with a 2.31 GAA and .922 SV%. Let's see if he can impress the Leafs if utilized during this call-up from here.
