Washington Capitals Forward Undergoes Surgery

Another day, another injury for the Washington Capitals. Beck Malenstyn has had hand surgery and will be out for the next six to eight weeks because of it.

The Capitals have been dealing with an array of injuries to their forward group all season. Connor Brown has been ruled out for the rest of the year, while Nicklas Backstrom, Tom Wilson, T.J. Oshie, and Carl Hagelin are all sidelined. This is bad news for a Capitals team that is off to a rough start, and now Malenstyn is the latest forward injured.

It's hard not to feel bad for Malenstyn, either, as he was in a position to get plenty of playing time with the NHL squad because of their injuries. Now, he is set to miss a notable amount of time, and it is tough to hear. In five games this season with the Caps, he has a goal and an assist.
