Bruins Rumors: Latest Trade Offers Were Rejected

According to multiple reports the Boston Bruins have been busy trying to shed salary early on this season but to this point, have not had any luck via the trade route.

Jimmy Murphy of Boston Hockey Now reports the Bruins tried to move one of Craig Smith or Mike Reilly, but to no avail, and ended up waiving Anton Stralman in the meantime to at least create a little bit of flexibility. Murphy had this to say of late:

Donny’s working hard to make room for Forbort and to gain any type of cap cushion he can going forward. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a trade in the next 48 hours.

There's even been rumblings the team was open to moving Brandon Carlo, but to this point that doesn't appear to have any traction. Recently the Bruins were linked to Patrick Kane, a move that would certainly send shockwaves across the entire NHL.

Bruins management continues to work the phones and at some point, expect a move out of Boston. They need to create some more salary cap flexibility and will likely lessen their asking prices on some of their players. Smith and Reilly remain to two likeliest trade candidates at this point.
