Columbus Blue Jackets Captain to Have Surgery

Columbus Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner is set to have surgery to repair a fractured thumb. As a result, he will be out for the next four weeks.

The Blue Jackets have had an array of injuries to significant players this season, and Jenner is the latest to be hit by the injury bug. With the Blue Jackets' season already being so bad, this will not impact their nonexistent playoff chances, but it still is never a good thing to lose your leader.

Although the Blue Jackets have had a rough year, Jenner has been excellent. In 30 games thus far, he has 11 goals to go along with 22 points. Let's see if he can maintain that pace of production once he is good to return.
