Jets Claim Kuhlman Off Waivers

The Winnipeg Jets took advantage of waivers today as they claimed Karson Kuhlman from the Seattle Kraken. Kuhlman was placed on waivers after the Kraken acquired Eeli Tolvanen just yesterday.

Kuhlman was originally acquired by the Kraken off of waivers in January from the Boston Bruins and has been in the NHL since then. He had three goals and 11 points in 39 games with Seattle, but has just one goal and three points in 14 games this season. His ice time has dropped 3.5 minutes on average from last season seeing as the Kraken have a logjam up front.

Kuhlman's most successful NHL season was 2021-22, so the Jets are giving him a chance while they are pretty banged up at forward with Nikolaj Ehlers, Mason Appleton, and Saku Maenalanen on the injured reserve.

The 27-year-old has the opportunity to get playing time anywhere in the bottom-six. His physical style of play will be welcomed and hopefully he can provide more than he did in Seattle this season.
