Nashville Predators Make Roster Moves as McDonagh Out Weeks

The Nashville Predators are doing some roster shuffling as they've recalled defenseman Jordan Gross. The Preds are also expected to be without defenseman Ryan McDonagh, who has been transferred to the IR and is expected to be out 2-4 weeks.

McDonagh, Nashville's prized offseason acquisition will miss time due to an upper-body injury. The 33-year-old has appeared in 23 games this season and has recorded six assists and a plus 5 +/- rating.

Gross was recalled from the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, where the 27-year-old has been a force offensively. So far in 13 games, Gross has recorded two goals and nine assists, to lead all blueliners.

Gross has already appeared in three games this season with the Preds and looks to make an impact while McDonagh is on the shelve. As per NHL.com's report:

Undrafted, Gross has played in 13 career NHL games since making his League debut on Dec. 22, 2019 with Arizona, tallying six points (2g-4a). In parts of five AHL campaigns, Gross has amassed 130 points (27g-103a) in 192 games, including consecutive seasons with at least 25 points in 2018-19 and 2019-20 with Tucson. Last season, Gross earned a spot on the AHL's First All-Star Team and won the Eddie Shore Award, given to the league's most outstanding defenseman, after recording 65 points (10g-55a) in 61 games for the Colorado Eagles.
