NHL Rumors: Rangers & Canucks Becoming Possible Trading Partners

The New York Rangers headed into this season with the expectation of being among the NHL's top teams. However, they have not been anywhere close to that thus far, as their 11-10-5 record shows effectively. In order to get their season back on track, we could start seeing GM Chris Drury start working the phones. One forward that should be on their radar in this scenario is Andrei Kuzmenko of the Vancouver Canucks.

Although the Rangers have limited cap space, it is important to note that Kuzmenko carries an easily affordable $950,000 cap hit. As a result, the pending UFA would not be too difficult for the Rangers to fit into their system. The 26-year-old winger has also been excellent this season so far for the Canucks, as he has 11 goals and 21 points in 24 games. The Rangers could certainly use a player with point-per-game potential in their top six right now.

Kuzmenko would be a major upgrade over Jimmy Vesey on the Rangers' top line, so let's see if this leads New York to make a big push for him from here.
