Tampa Bay Lightning Place Defenseman On Waivers

The Tampa Bay Lightning have placed Philippe Myers on waivers.

The Lightning acquired Myers this offseason in the Ryan McDonagh trade with the Nashville Predators. So far, the 6-foot-5 shutdown defenseman has done fairly well in limited minutes on the year. In 11 games, he has one goal, two assists, and even rating. However, his reliable defensive play is what has been most noticeable, but it still was not enough for him to avoid this waiver placement.

Given the fact that Myers carries a $2.55 million cap hit, it is highly unlikely another club will claim him. Assuming he clears, he will be heading to the Syracuse Crunch from here.
