3 Dallas Stars 2023 Trade Targets

According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, he could see the Dallas Stars trying to acquire another top-six forward before the March 3 trade deadline. The Stars are currently second in the Western Conference and are looking to upgrade their roster as they once again push to win a Stanley Cup.

Seravalli had this to say on what he expects out of #TexasHockey:

So the emphasis is up front: You don’t want to be a one-line team heading into the playoffs. The Stars have prospects to deal (Thomas Harley, Mavrik Bourque) to make a splash, but they’re also contending with a lack of cap space after trading their 2023 first-round pick for Nils Lundkvist.

There's no doubt it's going to be tough for the Stars to pull off a move, so they may need to look at some of the cheaper options available on the market. This would include the likes of Andrei Kuzmenko of the Vancouver Canucks who has scored 32 points in 36 games and carries only a $950,000 cap hit.

Two other targets include Dominik Kubalik of the Detroit Red Wings and Alexander Barabanov of the San Jose Sharks who has recorded 23 points in 34 games. The Stars currently have $1.3 million to work with in deadline cap space and don't hold their first or third-round picks at the 2023 draft.
