3 Potential Trade Destinations for Wild Matt Dumba

Minnesota Wild defenseman Matt Dumba is no stranger to trade lists. He's been rumored to be involved in trade talks these past few seasons and this season, the Wild may look to move Dumba, a pending free agent, for some future resources including cap flexibility. Here's a few potential destinations for the 28-year-old:

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins have some injury concerns to their blue line and could have interest in Dumba leading up to the March 3 trade deadline. The team has a great relationship with Wild GM Bill Guerin and things could advance. A lot to do with this trade will ride on the health of Jeff Petry and Kris Letang. The Pens have been dangling Kasperi Kapanen and Pierre-Oliver Joseph.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks are involved in several trade discussions and have Brock Boeser who could be in play here. Vancouver is looking for a right-handed defenseman, however won't love the fact Dumba isn't signed past this season. If a contract extension could be worked out, there's some serious potential here.

Buffalo Sabres

If the Sabres can stay afloat here these next few weeks they will be active before the trade deadline. They are loaded on the left side of their blue line, however their right side could use some work. Dumba would fit nice as an experienced partner for rookie Owen Power. Also could be an up-and-coming team the Wild defenseman looks to re-sign with. He holds a 10-team no-trade clause, so it's tough to say at this point if Buffalo is a no-fly zone.
