3 Potential Trade Destinations for Canucks' Andrei Kuzmenko

The Vancouver Canucks are going to be sellers at the 2023 trade deadline. Management is looking to re-tool on the fly, get younger, and create more salary cap flexibility. While Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser are two stars who are available, the Canucks' best trade chip is arguably forward Andrei Kuzmenko. The 26-year-old is having a huge season, putting up 32 points in 35 games and is only making $950,000 against the cap. Here's three teams who will be involved in trade talks with the Canucks:

Washington Capitals

The Capitals are going for it again this season and will be in the market for some secondary scoring. Kuzmenko could easily fit in with the Caps and give them the extra boost they need. At under $1 million he holds a contract that will be easy for Washington to fit in financially.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes are looking to add up front and will be circling the Canucks on all their players. Management and ownership are never afraid of a bold move and will be willing to move prospects or picks to acquire talent.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins will be in the market for a top-9 winger and Kuzmenko will be on their radar. With Jason Zucker unable to stay healthy and Kasperi Kapanen struggling this season, Kuzmenko could be an interesting fit on the team's second line with Evgeni Malkin. Canucks management know the Penguins well so could easily find a prospect or young NHL ready player to pry away from Pittsburgh in the deal.
