3 Potential Trade Destinations for Maple Leafs Pierre Engvall

The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to make multiple trades before the March 3 trade deadline. The team is looking to acquire a second-line winger and some more depth for the team's fourth line. With these intentions, and financial constraints due to the salary cap, its likely Leafs forward Pierre Engvall and his $2.25 million are included in one of the deals. Here's a few potential destinations for the Maple Leafs forward:

Philadelphia Flyers

The Leafs may have interest in a reunion with James van Riemsdyk and could send Engvall the other way along with a mid-level prospect. This would give him a chance to impress John Tortorella for the rest of the season and try to sway management to sign him to a contract extension before July 1.

San Jose Sharks

The Leafs have some interest in Sharks forward and could strike a deal with the rebuilding franchise. Again, to make the money work out under the cap, Engvall could be included here as he'd give the Sharks someone to plug and play and potentially re-sign.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks are looking to move out some of their more expensive contracts and the Leafs could be in on Bo Horvat or Andrei Kuzmenko. Engvall is 26 and could be someone the Canucks use to re-tool their bottom six. At 6-foot-5 and the ability to play wing and down the middle could make Engvall an attractive trade chip for Toronto.
