Boston Bruins Given Brutal Injury News

At the Winter Classic, Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk played the hero when he scored two goals in the third period to secure the Bruins a win. Unfortunately, there was a major price to pay, as he fractured his fibula during the contest and will be out indefinitely.

There’s no sugarcoating it, this is brutal news for the red-hot Bruins. DeBrusk has been having a fantastic year on the first line, as he has 16 goals and 30 points in 36 games. This is the best production that we’ve seen from DeBrusk in his career, so it is rather unfortunate that his hot play has to be put on pause.

The Bruins are going to have a tough time replacing DeBrusk in their lineup. Although Pastrnak is likely going to move up to the first line, there’s no question that their top six is being hit big with this unfortunate injury.

Nevertheless, here’s to hoping that DeBrusk has a speedy recovery and can get back on the ice soon.
