Coyotes Rumors: Insider Links Jakob Chychrun to Surprising Team

While on The Jeff Marek Show, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman said that it would make sense for the Buffalo Sabres to acquire Arizona Coyotes star defenseman Jakob Chychrun.

The Sabres have taken a significant step in the right direction this season and are even still in the playoff race at this point of the year. Seeing Buffalo playing competitive hockey again is great, but it is also clear that they could use significant help with their defensive group. As a result, it is easy to see why the Sabres would be a good fit for Chychrun. After all, he would immediately become one of their best players if acquired, as he is a star defenseman who plays a very reliable game defensively and chips in offensively.

Friedman noted that the asking price for Chychrun may be a bit too high for the Sabres, but when noting that he would be a perfect fit for Buffalo's system, it may be an avenue that they should still at least consider from here.
