Edmonton Oilers: 3 Trades to Consider Ahead of 2023 Deadline

The Edmonton Oilers will be active ahead of the March 3 trade deadline, there's no doubt about it. It's likely we see general manager Ken Holland pull the trigger weeks before the deadline as the Oilers are hovering in and out of a Stanley Cup Playoff spot. Here's a few trades to consider for Holland and the Oilers ahead of the deadline:

Oilers Must Move Puljujarvi or Foegele

One of the biggest areas for improvement for the Oilers is their forward depth. The likes of Warren Foegele and Jesse Puljujarvi are struggling this season and making a combined $5.75 million this season. Word is teams have been asking them for a sweetener to take Puljujarvi off Edmonton's hands. At this point Holland hasn't been interested in the asking price.

Edmonton Should Trade New Goalie

Things haven't worked out with Jack Campbell this season, his first in Edmonton, however the team could cut their ties. There's been some rumblings about the Ottawa Senators having interest, and a potential deal for Cam Talbot could benefit both teams, short and long term.

Add Jakob Chychrun from Arizona

It's time for Holland to go all in and Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun needs to be at the top of his wish list. The Oilers are desperate for left-handed blue line help and having Chychrun and Nurse as their 1-2 would be a nice set up for years to come. Holland should offer Puljujarvi, Philip Broberg and a first-round pick and see where the Coyotes stand.
