Edmonton Oilers & Arizona Coyotes Emerging as Trade Partners

The Edmonton Oilers are expected to be major buyers of the trade deadline. Although their primary need is to add a high-impact defenseman, it also would not hurt for them to bring in some forward depth. As a result, Arizona Coyotes forward Nick Richie could be a solid target for them.

Although Coyotes players like Jakob Chychrun and Shayne Gostisbehere are primarily getting buzz in the rumor mill, Ritchie could still get a lot of attention on the trade market, too. After all, the power forward can provide decent secondary scoring to go along with immense physicality in a bottom-six role. This is exactly what the Oilers could use right now, so don’t be surprised to see them make a push for him from here.

Alas, time will tell if the Oilers do in fact decide to make a run for Richie. On paper, a fit seems to be there, as Richie would add some toughness and production to their lineup for their much-anticipated playoff run.
