Edmonton Oilers Call Up Goaltender

Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner will be away from the team for the next couple days due to the fact that his wife is expecting. In response to this development, the Oilers have called up Calvin Pickard to the NHL roster under emergency conditions.

Due to this call-up being under emergency conditions, it is very likely to be a short-term one for the 30- year-old goaltender. Although it is expected to be short, Pickard will be hoping to get into his first NHL action of the 2022-23 season. If he is utilized, it will be the ninth-straight season that Pickard has appeared in an NHL game. Therefore, this is a little storyline that we should be looking out for from here.

The car has appeared in 116 Career NHL games, where he has a 35-54-10 record to go along with a .903 save percentage and a 3.04 goals-against average. Let’s see if Pickard ends up getting a chance to build upon these career stats during the short call-up with the Oilers from here.
