NHL Rumors: Edmonton Oilers Linked to Blackhawks Defenseman

While speaking on 32 Thoughts, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman noted that Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Jake McCabe could be a target for the Edmonton Oilers.

McCabe is exactly the kind of shutdown defenseman that the Oilers could use, so it makes sense that Friedman views him as a solid potential trade target for them. Yet, Edmonton would need to be okay with the fact that McCabe would also be more than a rental, as he carries a $4 million cap hit until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Alas, we will have to wait and see if Chicago and Edmonton end up striking a deal centering around McCabe from here.
