NHL Rumors: Gavrikov to Toronto Maple Leafs Heating Up

The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the best teams in the NHL right now, but it is clear that they would benefit from adding to their defensive group before the deadline passes. As a result, they have been linked to multiple defensemen as we get closer to March 3, and that trend is only continuing. According to The Fourth Period, the Toronto Maple Leafs are expressing interest in bringing in Vladislav Gavrikov from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Maple Leafs have a notable hole on their left side with Jake Muzzin sidelined indefinitely, and Gavrikov could be a great replacement for him because of it. After all, he plays a very responsible game defensively, chips in offensively, and is not afraid to throw his body around. As a result, he could be the perfect player for Toronto to bring in for their postseason run.

We will need to wait and see if Toronto’s interest in Gavrikov results in them landing the top-four defenseman from here. On paper, there appears to be a wonderful match here.
