NHL Rumors: Insider Links Pittsburgh Penguins Forward to Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers are expected to be major buyers at the trade deadline this year. Besides adding a notable defenseman, the Oilers would also be wise to improve their bottom-six forward group. As a result of this, NHL insider Frank Seravalli listed Pittsburgh Penguins forward Teddy Blueger as a potential trade target for them.

Although the Penguins are competing for a playoff spot, they are expected to move salary out before the deadline. This is because they are dealing with cap trouble, and they want to free some up to make other moves elsewhere. As a result, Blueger has been made available, and interest in his services is starting to increase.

With Blueger being a very effective two-way forward, it makes sense that Edmonton is aiming to bring him in before the deadline. We will need to wait and see if the Penguins and Oilers end up striking a deal from here.
