NHL Rumors: LA Kings Linked to Blue Jackets Goalie

The Columbus Blue Jackets have had a terrible 2022-23 season and are expected to be major sellers at the trade deadline because of it. One player who is expected to be moved because of it is pending unrestricted free agent Joonas Korpisalo. With the Los Angeles Kings having significant trouble in net, perhaps they could end up being a team that makes a push for Korpisalo.

After a rough few seasons, Korpisalo seems to have found his old form, as he’s having a solid year because of it. As a result, he could be a decent option for the Kings if they end up missing out on other more notable goaltenders at the deadline. Yet, he has outperformed their duo of Jonathan Quick and Cal Petersen this campaign, so perhaps he could be an appealing target.

Alas, it will be intriguing to see if Los Angeles and Columbus end up striking a deal centering around Korpisalo from here. On paper, the fit seems to be there, but time will tell if this does in fact come to fruition from here.
