NHL Rumors: Nashville Predators Goalie Becoming Trade Candidate

In a recent piece for Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli noted that major changes could be coming to the struggling Nashville Predators. After years of slowly falling off, Nashville is finally looking like a non-playoff team, and this could lead to them becoming major sellers at the deadline. Mattias Ekholm is one notable name who has already been made available, but that may end up being just the tip of the iceberg. In his piece, Seravalli also brought up the possibility of Juuse Saros being made available if the Predators embrace a full-on rebuild.

There’s no question that Saros is a fantastic goaltender, and there would be a plethora of interest if he is officially made available by the Predators. After all, he just put together a 64-save performance against the Carolina Hurricanes earlier this week. This is exactly the kind of goaltender that playoff teams who are having goalie issues would love to add to their roster. As a result, Nashville may look to take advantage of his very high trade value.

If the Predators do in fact embrace a legitimate rebuild from here, there would be no player more valuable than Saros. We will have to wait and see if he ends up becoming available from here, but this also seems like a move that may be done during the offseason rather than before the deadline.
