NHL Rumors: New York Rangers Interested in Canucks Winger

The New York Rangers are heading into the second half of the season with a solid record. Due to this, they are expected to be buyers at the trade deadline, so we should expect them to make several moves. They are reportedly looking to add a top-six winger before the deadline passes, and they have been linked to several different players because of it. In a recent piece for Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli brought up the prospect of the Rangers making a push for Vancouver Canucks winger Brock Boeser.

Boeser is one of the top trading candidates at this time, as the Canucks are reportedly trying to find him a new home. This news was announced after the Canucks scratched Boeser earlier this season. Although the sniper has had a down year, a change of scenery could be exactly what allows him to find his old form. After all, he is a 30-goal scorer while playing at his best, and the Rangers could certainly use that kind of jolt in their offense.

Boeser has multiple years left on his contract, so the Rangers would have to be okay with him being more than a rental. Yet, when noting that he could be a legitimate star when playing at his best, it certainly does not seem too out of the question that they would be. Alas, let’s see if these two clubs end up striking a deal from here.
