NHL Rumors: Oilers & Blackhawks Talking Blockbuster Trade

The Edmonton Oilers are looking to win their first Stanley Cup during the Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl era. As a result, they are expected to go all-in during the trade deadline, and it appears that they have their eyes set on numerous top-tier talents. According to the Fourth Period, they are one of the clubs currently linked to star winger Patrick Kane.

Kane is one of the top rental candidates heading into the deadline. The Chicago Blackhawks are currently the worst club in the NHL, as expected, and players like Kane and Jonathan Toews are expected to be dealt because of it. There's no question that Kane would be a major addition to Edmonton's roster. It would give them another elite talent, and his stats could skyrocket playing with McDavid.

Yet, Edmonton would need Chicago to retain half of Kane's salary, and a third team would need help for this move to occur. However, with this report, it is clear that Kane is in fact on the Oilers' radar.
