NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers Linked to Oilers Winger

The Philadelphia Flyers are once again one of the worst teams in the NHL this season, and they are expected to be major sellers at the trade deadline because of it. Yet, it also appears that they are open to bringing in talent to their roster if it could help them in the long run. As a result, there are rumblings that they are one of the teams interested in Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi.

Puljujarvi could certainly use a change of scenery at this point, as things are just not working out with the Oilers. Although he has had past success in the league, he has struggled mightily for Edmonton this year, and his placement on the depth chart has dropped because of it. Yet, joining a rebuilding team like the Flyers could offer him the chance to receive time on their second line at a minimum.

With the Oilers reportedly being one of the teams interested in acquiring Ivan Provorov, don’t be surprised to see them try to move Puljujarvi to the Flyers as one of the parts of a potential trade package. Alas, we will need to wait and see if the 2016 third-overall pick ends up becoming a Flyer before the deadline passes.
