NHL Rumors: Teams Calling About San Jose Sharks Star

Earlier this season, San Jose Sharks general manager Mike Grier made it known that the Sharks are willing to move star defenseman Erik Karlsson for the right price. Now, it appears that things are heating up on that front, as it was reported on yesterday's (Jan. 10) TSN Insider Trading episode that teams are in fact calling about Karlsson.

Ultimately, it is not too surprising to hear that Karlsson is garnering interest after the season he has been having. After a handful of underwhelming seasons for his standards, Karlsson has turned back the clock this campaign, as he has 13 goals and a ridiculous 55 points in just 42 games. The 32-year-old defenseman is on pace for over 100 points, so it would be wise for the Sharks to take advantage of his heightened trade value now.

It will be intriguing to see Karlsson ends up being moved at the deadline, but given this latest report, there seems to be a legitimate chance that he does.
