NHL Rumors: Toronto Maple Leafs Linked to St. Louis Blues Forward

The Toronto Maple Leafs are once again having a spectacular regular season, and they are expected to be big buyers at the trade deadline because of it. Besides adding a defenseman, Toronto should be aiming to improve their forward depth as well. It appears that this is on GM Kyle Dubas’ mind, as the Maple Leafs are linked to St. Louis Blues forward Ivan Barbashev, according to The Fourth Period.

Barbashev would be a very good player for the Maple Leafs to bring in, as he offers excellent secondary scoring and immense physicality while playing at his best. Overall, he is exactly the kind of player that playoff teams love to have, so it does make sense that the Maple Leafs are considering the prospect of bringing him in.

Barbashev could be a nice fit in the Maple Leafs’ middle six, as he offers versatility to go along with solid defensive play. We will have to wait and see if Toronto and St. Louis end up striking a deal centering around Barbashev before the trade deadline passes from here.
