NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks Aiming to Extend Forward

The Vancouver Canucks are expected to be among the league's top sellers at the trade deadline, and Bo Horvat is of course their biggest trade target. There has been some buzz over the potential availability of winger Andrei Kuzmenko, but while speaking with the media, Canucks president Jim Rutherford noted that they have begun extension talks with the winger.

Kuzmenko has been excellent in his first NHL season with the Canucks, so it makes sense that they are hoping to re-sign him. In 42 games thus far, the 26-year-old winger has 17 goals to go along with 38 points. Overall, he has been exactly what they had hoped for, and now he is in line for a major raise because of it.

Yet, with Vancouver being a disaster right now, there's no guarantee that he will stay put. If an extension is not finalized before the deadline, don't be surprised to see him dealt for a sweet return at the deadline.
