St. Louis Blues Defenseman Placed on IR

The St. Louis Blues have placed Robert Bortuzzo on injured reserve due to a lower-body injury.

When it was announced that Bortuzzo suffered his lower-body injury this past weekend, the veteran defenseman was deemed as being day-to-day. However, this IR placement means that he now must miss at least a week of action at least. This certainly is not the best news, as this could be an indicator that his injury is a bit more serious than they expected.

The Blues are having a rough season, and a major reason for this is their injuries on the backend. Torey Krug, Scott Perunovich, Marco Scandella, and Nick Leddy are all currently out of action for St. Louis, and now Bortuzzo is there with them.

With this development, the Blues have called up 6-foot-3 defenseman Dmitri Samorukov. He will be looking to make his debut with St. Louis during the call-up. In one career NHL game, he has zero points and a minus-2 rating.
