Minnesota Wild Rumors: GM Will Make More Trades

The Minnesota Wild have been a third-party financial broker so far this trade season and if GM Bill Guerin gets his wish, the Wild will be much bigger players ahead of the March 3 trade deadline.

Guerin recently caught up with Joe Smith of The Athletic and had this to say about what to expect from the savvy executive:

They're showing me they're serious. We're going to be in a dogfight until the very end. We'd like to be active. What we can do or whatever we'll be able to do is another story. But we have to take a look at being very active. I think we've managed our cap well and have flexibility that's important. But it just doesn't mean that we're going to go out and use it all, because that costs assets. And we're just not necessarily in that spot.

Guerin went on to mention he feels the team will keep defenseman Matt Dumba, who is a pending unrestricted free agent. Minnesota sits in third in the Central and look for Guerin to add some scoring up front ahead of the trade deadline.
