Montreal Canadiens Rumors: Forward Garnering Trade Interest

The Montreal Canadiens are preparing to be major sellers at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, and players like Sean Monahan, Jonathan Drouin, and Joel Edmundson have emerged as trade candidates because of it. However, it appears that another Canadien could be on the move, as NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reported that Evgenii Dadonov is starting to generate more trade interest.

LeBrun noted that teams who miss out on top forward trade targets are expected to join the Dadonov sweepstakes as we get closer to the ever-so-important date of March 3. The 33-year-old winger has the potential to be a decent third-line forward for a contender looking to add a bit more production in the bottom half of their lineup.

Dadonov has had a bit of a quiet year in 2022-23, however, as he has just four goals and 17 points in 46 games played. However, he also posted a 43-point campaign in 78 games last season for the Vegas Golden Knights, so he can produce fairly well when playing at his best. Alas, we will need to wait and see where the nine-year NHL veteran lands from here.
