Nashville Predators Ryan Johansen Undergoes Emergency Surgery

The Nashville Predators will be without center Ryan Johansen for the foreseeable future after the veteran center underwent emergency surgery on Wednesday. Johansen had his leg cut by a skate blade during Tuesday's victory over the Vancouver Canucks.

The Preds are dealing with a slew of injuries including to star winger Filip Forsberg, who has missed the last couple of weeks nursing an upper-body injury. Johansen now hits the shelve as the Predators will be in tough to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs, sitting seven points back of the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.

Through 55 games this season, Johansen has collected 28 points, in what should be considered a down season. The 30-year-old forward is signed through the 2024-25 season, making $8 million per season.
