Pittsburgh Penguins Rumors: 3 Roster Players Named Trade Candidates

The Pittsburgh Penguins are a mess and have been sliding at the wrong time. Pens Nation is fed up with general manager Ron Hextall and at the Penguins last home game, they were chanting 'Fire Hextall'. Needless to say patience is running thin in Pittsburgh and Hextall needs to get off his hands and make a move. Here's three trade candidates from off his current roster:

Jason Zucker

The one player who has been playing hard all season long, Jason Zucker was recently named a potential trade option. He's a 31-year-old pending unrestricted free agent who is making $5.5 million against the cap in 2022-23. Zucker has scored 15 goals and 33 points in 53 games this season. He holds a 10-team no-trade clause and cannot be moved at will. The LA Kings would have interest here.

Brian Dumoulin

Perhaps the most disappointing defensemen on the Penguins this season, the veteran Dumoulin has struggled in 2022-23. He's also a pending free agent who makes $4.1 million against the cap. He also holds a 10-team no-trade clause and in 57 games this season has yet to score and has recorded 12 helpers.

Tristan Jarry

Yes, their starting goaltender could be in play as Hextall is looking over just about all of his options. Jarry is a pending free agent and word is contract talks have gone nowhere all season long. Management is worried about Jarry's injury frequency and last season had to play their third-stringer in an all or nothing Stanley Cup Playoff game. The Vancouver Canucks would have interest here.
