Pittsburgh Penguins Rumors: Senators Forward Becoming Target

The Pittsburgh Penguins are expected to make changes to their group at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline. One area that they are aiming to improve is their fourth line, and now there are rumblings that Ottawa Senators forward Austin Watson is on their radar because of it.

The Penguins have been criticized by many for not being tough enough to play against, but adding a player like Watson would help stop that ongoing narrative. After all, Watson plays a very heavy game and is never shy to throw hits. As a result, he could be a decent fourth-line option for the Penguins as they gear up for the final stretch of the campaign.

Watson is not going to make too much of an impact offensively if he is acquired. After all, he has just four goals and two assists in 52 games played. Yet, 115 hits and 63 penalty minutes show that he is a tenacious winger, so we will need to wait and see if the Penguins end up adding him to their group to have a bit more bite from here.
