San Jose Sharks Rumors: Forward Being Linked to Flames

The San Jose Sharks are open for business, and their two biggest trade candidates are Timo Meier and Erik Karlsson. Yet, they also are hearing offers for Kevin Labanc, and the Calgary Flames are linked to him, according to The Fourth Period.

After a handful of rough seasons, Labanc has bounced back well in 2022-23. In 46 games this season, the 27-year-old winger has 10 goals to go along with 25 points. Overall, he has worked well as a middle-six winger providing decent secondary scoring, so it makes sense that the Flames are considering bringing him in. After all, their scoring woes are why they are not in the best position in the standings right now.

Labanc also should not cost the Flames too much in a trade, so we will now need to wait and see if he ends up heading to Calgary before the trade deadline passes from here. On paper, there appears to be a very good fit, and that is especially true if San Jose retains some salary in the process.
