Vancouver Canucks Rumors: Veteran Defenseman Linked to Jets

The Vancouver Canucks have a valuable trading asset in Luke Schenn, and the veteran defenseman is getting a ton of attention around the NHL because of it. Now, a new team has entered the mix, as The Fourth Period has reported that the Winnipeg Jets are linked to Schenn.

The Jets are in a position to add to their roster, as they are currently one of the top teams in the NHL and could go on a real run this postseason because of it. When looking at their current group, it is fair to argue that they could use a shutdown, right-shot defenseman, and Schenn of course is exactly that. Therefore, it makes sense that Winnipeg wants to bring in the 2008 fifth-overall pick.

Schenn has been one of the rare bright spots for the Canucks this season, as he has three goals, 18 points, a plus-4 rating, and a ridiculous 252 hits in 54 games. Needless to say, the Saskatchewan native is built for the playoffs, so don't be surprised to see the Jets increase their efforts to land him from here.
