Winnipeg Jets Provide Update On Cole Perfetti

While speaking with reporters, Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness announced that Cole Perfetti will be out for the next eight weeks at least due to an upper-body injury.

This is such rough news for the Jets, as Perfetti has emerged as a strong contributor to their group. In 51 games this season, the 21-year-old has eight goals and 30 points. Overall, it appears that the 2020 10th-overall pick is taking that next step in his development, but this latest injury will now put his campaign on pause at a minimum.

With Perfetti out long term, this could lead the Jets to browse the trade market for another forward even more. They have been one of the many teams in on Timo Meier, but other potential trade targets worth considering include James van Riemsdyk, Ivan Barbashev, Max Domi, and Kevin Labanc.

Here's to hoping that Perfetti's recovery goes smoothly and that he is good to go for the postseason.
