Kings & Blue Jackets Working on a Late Night Trade

The Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets are working on a trade that will send the franchise great Johnathan Quick to Columbus along with a first-round pick in exchange for Vladislav Gavrikov and Joonas Korpisalo.

The Kings will address needs with this deal, which could push them ahead of the rest of their division. As of now, they are tied for first in the Pacific Division, and they were looking to add another goalie and defenseman. LA has had a lot of goaltending struggles this season, and now it seems that Korpisalo will join Phoenix Copley as the other part of the tandem as they gear up for the playoffs.

As for Columbus, this season has been nothing short of a disappointment. Which has forced them to retool their team to help the future of the organization. Currently, they are in the bottom five in the league and are working on securing the first overall pick in the upcoming NHL draft.

Once this deal is made official, the question will turn to Quick and his future. Will he report to the Blue Jackets? Will he retire early? Or will he ask for a trade to another team that is contending for a Stanley Cup? Only time will tell what the next step in Johnny Quick's career is.
