2 Montreal Canadiens Forwards Out for Season After Surgeries

The Montreal Canadiens provided a medical update this week as both forwards Sean Monahan and Alex Belzile underwent surgery and won't be back in 2022-23. Monahan underwent a procedure on his groin, meanwhile Belzile had a fractured leg which required an operation to fix.

As for Monahan, the slew of injuries this season is what kept him in Montreal. He was in line to be moved before the March 3rd trade deadline. Monahan hasn't played since Dec. 5 against the Vancouver Canucks. He appeared in 25 games for the Habs, recording six goals and 11 assists for 17 points.

Belzile on the other hand, has chipped in with 14 points in 31 games for the Canadiens and another 14 goals and 26 points in the AHL with Laval.

Canadiens fans are hopeful having these two out of the lineup will help their chances of losing games down the stretch as they try to 'fall hard for Bedard'.
