3 Winnipeg Jets Not Expected Back Next Season

The Winnipeg Jets are going to look much different when the 2023-24 season opens. Head coach Rick Bowness didn't hold back on the disappointment he felt with the core players during their first-round series exit against the Vegas Golden Knights. Here's a few Jets who aren't expected back next season:

Logan Stanley

The one player who asked to leave Winnipeg this season, towering defenseman Logan Stanley requested a trade ahead of the March 3 trade deadline but his wish was not well received. The Jets asking price is sky high and will need to come down during the summer months to facilitate a deal. Stanley appeared in 19 games this season, recording three points and also managed to dress in one playoff game. He's a pending restricted free agent this summer.

Nikolaj Ehlers

27-year-old speedster Nikolaj Ehlers is someone you can circle as a prime trade candidate out of Winnipeg. The shifty winger can't stay healthy when it matters most and look for the team to move on from Ehlers this summer. He has two seasons left on his deal at a $6 million cap hit and holds trade protection against 10 teams. This season, Ehlers recorded 38 points in 45 games and only managed to get into one Stanley Cup Playoff game.

Pierre-Luc Dubois

Again, the Jets are going to look much different next season and Pierre-Luc Dubois is someone to watch. The trade talks with the Montreal Canadiens will pick up once again at the NHL Entry Draft and there's certainly a chance a deal gets done. There's no secret about the mutual interest from the Canadiens and Dubois' camp to get him to Montreal asap.
