Anaheim Ducks Part Ways With Head Coach

According to NHL insider Darren Dreger, the Anaheim Ducks will not be bringing back Dallas Eakins as their head coach.

The Anaheim Ducks had a truly miserable 2022-23 season that ended with a 13-game losing streak. This horrendous stretch of play had them finish with a 23-47-16 record and the fewest amount of points (58) in the NHL. This is not all bad news when noting that they have the best odds to land Connor Bedard now, but they were also expected to take a step forward this year. Instead, they took a major step back.

As a result of this, it it not the most surprising of developments that the Ducks are moving on from Eakins. Perhaps a change behind the bench could be the spark that they need to be more competitive in 2023-24. Either way, Eakins will now be hoping for a new job elsewhere.

Over the course of his four-year tenure as head coach of the Ducks, Eakins put together a 100-147-44 record and failed to make the postseason in each season. Now we will need to wait and see who the Ducks bring in as Eakins' replacement from here.
