Anaheim Ducks Sign Prospect

The Anaheim Ducks have signed Jackson LaCombe to two-year, entry-level contract. His contract will begin immediately.

LaCombe just completed his senior season with the University of Minnesota and could have tested the free-agent market this offseason because of it. However, he instead has elected to join the Ducks on this ELC.

The Ducks selected LaCombe with the 39th overall pick of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, so they naturally wanted to get him signed. He also just put together a strong season with the University of Minnesota, as he had nine goals and 35 points in 37 games. Overall, those are solid numbers from a defenseman, and now he will be aiming to translate some of that production to the professional level from here.

It will be intriguing to see if LaCombe can make an impact for the Ducks as soon as he arrives. He is eligible to join the Ducks during their final games of the season, but time will tell if they elect to utilize him from here.
