Edmonton Oilers Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Offseason

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2023 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.

In this latest article, we will be looking at the Edmonton Oilers.

Frederick Gaudreau: The Oilers will likely try to add a third-line center this offseason, and Frederick Gaudreau stands out as a possible free-agent target because of it. The 29-year-old has quietly been having a solid season with the Minnesota Wild, as he has 16 goals, 19 assists, and a plus-10 rating in 77 games played.

Evan Rodrigues: Evan Rodrigues is also a solid free-agent target to consider, as he provides strong secondary scoring and can play all three forward positions. In 62 games this season with the Colorado Avalanche, the Toronto native has 14 goals and 20 assists.

Antti Raanta: If the Oilers decide to part ways with Jack Cambell this offseason and run with Stuart Skinner as their number-one netminder, they will need to bring in another goalie. In this scenario, perhaps a goalie like Antti Raanta could make sense for them. The 33-year-old has worked well as the backup for the Carolina Hurricanes this season, as he sports a 17-2-3 record, 2.22 GAA, and .910 SV%.
