Golden Knights Name Game 1 Starter For Playoffs

As the Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets are set to match up in the first round of the playoffs, Vegas has named their starting goalie. This was something to watch as the team has used five different goalies over the course of the season and injuries have played a big factor.

Laurent Brossoit will start Game 1 against his former team where he played for three seasons before joining the Golden Knights. Starter Logan Thompson is injured and the status of Adin Hill is in question as he last played March 7, while even though Jonathan Quick has played better since becoming a member of the Golden Knights, he can't be trusted to win a series at this stage of his career.

Brossoit has bounced back nicely after last season, injuries, and spending the majority of the season in the American Hockey League. He went 7-0-3 for Vegas this season, posting a 2.17 GAA and .927 SV%. Winnipeg won't be an easy test for Brossoit as they had to fight their way into the postseason while Vegas has been firmly in for some time now. We will see if Brossoit, who has faced just eight shots in his NHL career in the playoffs, can hold down the fort for Vegas.
