Montreal Canadiens Rumors: Forward Becoming Trade Candidate

The Montreal Canadiens are set to make some changes to their roster this offseason as they continue their rebuild. As a result, there have been some rumblings that Christian Dvorak could be on the move this summer because of it.

Dvorak was in the rumor mill a bit leading up to the deadline, but a move did not come to fruition. However, it seems possible that things could change on that front during the offseason, as teams will have more cap space due to pending UFAs being off the books. Therefore, teams searching for a middle-six center could surely make a push for Dvorak.

Dvorak carries a $4.45 million cap hit until the completion of the 2024-25 season and will have an eight-team no-trade list starting on July 1st. Therefore, the Canadiens have plenty of wiggle room to move him if they wish to. However, his cap hit is a bit expensive, so there is also a chance that they would need to retain a portion of his salary.

In 64 games this season with the Canadiens, Dvorak has 10 goals and 28 points.
