Pittsburgh Penguins Rumors: Forward Wants to Stay Put

While speaking with reporters, pending unrestricted free agent Jason Zucker said that he wants to re-sign with the Pittsburgh Penguins this offseason.

However, Zucker's return to Pittsburgh is certainly not guaranteed, as the Penguins still have not found new management and could look to make changes to their roster after missing the postseason. With that, Zucker could be in line for a pretty big payday, as he scored 27 goals and recorded 48 points in 78 games, and this year's free agency class is particularly weak.

Perhaps Zucker's desire to stay a Penguin could lead him to take a bit of a hometown discount, but time will tell what happens on that front. If the Penguins decide to move on from him even with his desire to stay put, look for teams like the Vegas Golden Knights, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wing, and Columbus Blue Jackets to be among the teams interested in him.
