San Jose Sharks Rumors: Defenseman Becoming Trade Candidate

The San Jose Sharks are expected to be quite active this offseason, as they have begun their rebuild. Erik Karlsson is their biggest trade target, but there are rumblings that they will also be shopping Mario Ferraro this summer.

Ferraro's name came up in the rumor mill leading up the deadline, but a move did not come to fruition. However, with teams having more cap space available during the offseason, the Sharks should have an easier time moving Ferraro. With that, teams looking to add to their defensive group will surely be calling San Jose about him.

Ferraro is a solid top-four defenseman while playing at his best, as he plays a reliable defensive game and also is very physical. As a result, there will be a market for him this offseason. Some clubs expected to target him include the Seattle Kraken, New Jersey Devils, Washington Capitals, and New York Islanders.

Alas, we will need to keep a close on Ferraro's name in the rumor mill this summer, as he is one of the Sharks' most appealing trade targets.
