St. Louis Blues Rumors: Defenseman to be Shopped

Changes are on the way for the St. Louis Blues after a disastrous 2022-23 season. As a result, one player who is starting to generate some buzz in the rumor mill is defenseman Marco Scandella.

Scandella carries a $3.275 million cap hit until the end of next season, and the Blues are likely hoping that they can free up some much-needed cap space by moving him. The veteran defenseman was limited to only 20 games this season with St. Louis, where he had one goal and one assist. It was an uneventful year for the 33-year-old while he was healthy, so the Blues are unlikely to receive too much for him in a move.

Teams looking for help on their bottom pairing could consider taking a chance on Scandella. Furthermore, it may take a sweetener for the Blues to successfully move him, so don't be surprised if rebuilding teams with cap space like the Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks, and Chicago Blackhawks consider acquiring Scandella as well.
