Stealth Practice Video Reveals Potential Connor McDavid Injury

An off-day skate during the postseason usually doesn't reveal much in the way of news. But when someone spots something just a little... off with the greatest player in the world, it's worth noting.

Edmonton Oilers beat reporter Ryan Rishaug was doing a little stealth filming with his smartphone at practice Thursday morning and spotted Connor McDavid apparently nursing what appeared to be a sore leg.

He can be seen holding his left knee momentarily and shaking the leg out a bit. Of course, the Oilers won't be saying a word about this, and neither will anyone else associated with the team.

As Rishaug notes, nearly every player is nursing some kind of ailment at this time of year.

Edmonton takes a 3-2 series lead into LA Saturday night, trying to close out their first-round matchup with the Los Angeles Kings.

If anything has been bothering McDavid, it could possibly explain his slow start to the series, which saw him manage just one assist in the first two games while his scoring chances at even strength were down dramatically from the regular season. He has added two goals and another five assists in the past three contests, however, calming Oilers fans' nerves.

McDavid stepped up his otherworldly production to a completely new level this season, posting the second-greatest season in NHL history for anyone not named Wayne Gretzky or Mario Lemieux. McJesus registered a career-best 153 points on 64 goals and 89 assists and will undoubtedly be taking home his 3rd Hart Memorial Trophy.
